The Church of God, wrote Paul, is built on a foundation that includes the apostles and prophets, with Jesus Christ Himself as its chief cornerstone (Eph. 2:20). Isaiah referred to that foundation, “Behold, I lay in Zion [the Church] for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation” (Isa. 28:16). And notice II Timothy 2:19: “The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” Where do you stand in relationship to Christ and this foundation? What is your foundation?
