It’s time we came to grips with a very real problem in the Church of God today! Christ’s Body should be “one big happy family,” but the truth is that many of our members are far from happy. Many in the Church are lonely and discouraged. They feel isolated, trapped, cut off from the rest of the Body. You may well be reading this article because you have your own private struggle with loneliness and would like to know what to do about it. Who’s lonely? Who is lonely in God’s Church? Lots of people are! The people who feel this way most are those who are cut off from the support the natural family usually provides.

Herbert W. Armstrong (July 31, 1892 – January 16, 1986) founded the Worldwide Church of God in the late 1930s, as well as Ambassador College in 1946, and was an early pioneer of radio and tele-evangelism, originally taking to the airwaves in the 1930s from Eugene, Oregon. Mr. Armstrong preached an eclectic set of theological doctrines and teachings that came directly from the Bible. His teachings included the interpretation of biblical prophecy and taught observance of God’s Laws, Sabbath (Saturday), and the Biblical “Holy Days”.

Dave Albert, do you remember me, Anthony Buzzard. I have admired your excellent book on the issue of Sabbaths and holy days. My career has been in a Bible College. Has it occurred to you that there may be much more wrong with the HWA theology. How about the “the two Gods in the God family”– a rather obvious polytheism? Would love to share with you what we have found over the years. Yes, the Kingdom of God Gospel is right and the sleep of the dead, but who is Jesus and who is GOD? There matters are pressing for us all.

  Hello Anthony, I am not sure if Mr. Albert visits this blog or not, but if he does he should get your message.
  
  I personally don’t see how anyone could see that Mr. Armstrong was nothing more than 100% correct on what the Bible so plainly states in John 1:1-5. But Mr. Albert would be better qualified to show you where you are in error. Regards Mark

    Thanks so much for your kind respoinse. The fact is that many of us who became Bible people as a job do know of a better way than “Two GODS in the family!” I thought the good Dave Albert would be interested and his booklet against Mosaic law is so very good. I knew Charles Hunting well for 30 years and the movement led by HWA was pretty bad! We have lots of ex HWA’;s with us (does not prove anything!) We are not sabbatarians. Please pass this to Dave A for me.
